I have a set of JL XR 6.5" 3 ways components and cannot fit them in my valver as the door cards wont take them. I need to get customer door builds but dont know the best place to get them from.

Has anybody got my speakers and fitted them in a mk2 golf before?

Where the best place to get the door builds from?

Cheers,

posted in the other thread,

but audioscape are the best pods you can get for the mk2 IMO and maby the only pods you can get i dunno,

i got mine from link (http://www.huetcaraudio.co.uk/acatalog/Product_Categories_Audioscape_door_pods__door_buil ds_and_kick_builds_17.html) but i think you can get them cheeper directly from audioscape?

make sure you get them to cut the holes in them, as i struggled to find a whole saw thats 6.5" so i had to cut them with a 6" one and file it out, it was ok doing it that way just took some time,

tim_mk2 - see those door pods that are on the link, do those fit any of the mk2 golf 2dr door cards? as mine is an 85' mk2 gti and it only has them small tiny front speakers

be careful tho if there built for the 2 door golf and you have a four door they will be too big

ive seen some in a scrap yard that have a pocket where the speaker would go. can i just get the grills to fit into those??? or are they completely different. they were deffo 2door

you can get grills for thoes and i think from vw but the sound quality wont be as good as a proper buld will rattle and stuff but if you arnt putting anything to profesional in then it wont matter

nah, nothing to proffesinal, just better quality speakers to listen to good quality music through, basically to fit some components in is all im after. need better speakers than the tin style crap ones the standard fit ones are. hopefully them door pockets will still be in the scrap yar, might go back tomorrow and look
