Bought this unmolested mk2 8v GTI recently from a trader who deals with my boss, it was 'the usual' faded Tornado pink, the tappets rattle when cold, it's a limo version
Arrived at Claire's on Saturday and she said Jack, the CGTI Warwickshire host had invited some of the CGTI Worcs posse to show their cars at the Town and Country festival at Stoneleigh park on Sunday. (will post more pics of that in another thread)

If it means getting in free then I'll take my polishing rags....

As you can see it's already grown a set of OZ super turismos off the other car and a spare MOMO model 78 steering wheel I had kicking around.

Yes, yes, I know it needs lowering, but it's my daily driver, I already have a bone shaking mk2 track car (that's STILL in bits) so the 8v 'chugger' will stay comfy and quiet.

However, I may fit a set of Eibach springs and Eibach 22/25mm ARBs if any pop up on the classifieds.

Can't complain for 300, looks tidy.

Must be weird driving a standard Mk2 compared to you 16v?

It is weird, quiet, rolly polly, gutless and just slightly better than walking , but I can still get to Worcester in 2 hrs 20mins..

It's interesting actually, for the last 16 yrs I've always fecked about with cars, in my blood etc but it's nice to drive something that isn't 'ruined' once in a while. Must be getting old.

Yeah, sure there's been times when a kid in a Saxo chavmobile has beaten me from the lights and you wish you were in the other car (when it's done!!)

Looks great for the money, and I'd keep the comfy suspension. I was out in my Mk1 yesterday for the first time in a while (very low on coilovers) and it makes my Mk2 seem comfy again now!

Looks tidy, a good 300 quids worth. I know what you mean about driving something that hasnt been 'ruined' I'm quite enjoying the forgiving nature of stock suspension and sound deadening these days.

A proper bargain mate - a real steel for 300 notes.

I do hope you've been on the blower about that 'box today. They need shooting for their customer service skills!
