Just thought I`d throw up some before and after pics of my 8v. "I see a red Golf and I want it painted black" Dropped on Koni coilovers;`90-spec doors fitted; all trim/badges removed In the bodyshop Doors took almost a week to get absolutely flat! Final prep before paint Andy VERY carefully grinding the back arches after I decided to drop it another 10mm PipeWerx come up trumps with new 2.5" stainless system... ...old one was goosed! Done!...for now Thanks for looking!
Cheers mate! Got some different centres on them now... ...also cos it`s my daily driver they are in urgent need of a re-furb before the summer!
Only 1 pic???? c'mon mate get the rest of them up ....car looks wicked, nice centre caps and great spray job. Whats the interior like?
That car looks mint, i love the wheels what are the dimensions of them. looks awesome with the small bumpers, and the chrome on black is great. good work
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. The wheels are Schmidt Modern one-piece in 8x15" with 195/45 Goodyear Eagle F1`s stretched on. Here`s some more pics as requested! Most of the metal under the windscreen was replaced. Also the wiper hole deleted. Both rear arches were rotten. Original N/S from VW, but O/S made from scratch! Day two of door flatting. Poor Mark![:^(] Some `arty` shots Inters `06 Tatton `06 VW Festival `06 alongside my mate`s 20v Mk1 (he won a runner`s up trophy!) No pics of the interior, it`s not done yet! RS Turbo Recaros up front and a Corrado rear bench still to go in. Standard dash apart from white dials that light up purple (took me ages to get them right). And a 280mm Momo Team wheel (but no power steering!! ) Once again thanks and I hope you enjoyed these pics!
that is sexy, how much did it cost you to get it respayed? what rims are they, size? tyre?? look nice
Cheers mate! It cost about 2500 all in for the spray. The original plan was to take it in as a rolling shell so a 1.8T would go in after. But best plans and all that, so the bay is still red ( ) for now. It`ll be smoothed and painted when the funds come together for the conversion. The wheels are Schmidt Moderns (see post further up! ) 8x15" ET20 with 195/45 tyres. Like the looks of your car too. What rims are they?
Thats one sexy looking mk2. Is it factory vw black?. Have you had any arch work done to allow your wheels to sit under there?.
That looks the business mate! If you ever want another project give me a shout and you can sort my mk2
