Hi peeps, my 16v KR seems to be hitting its limiter at 6500ish and its f**kin hard, like fuel cut in a jap car What do your limiters feel like, do they feel like most normal limiters in other cars where they just seem to hold at the redline? ive also just done the high limiter mod as per; http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104446&highlight=REV+LIMIT but it still stops at 6500ish just as before???

Check you rotor arm is attached properly I had the same problem and symptoms the limiter was like hitting a brick wall. One day i hit the limiter it went bang and it came completly off thought id ****ed the engine wouldnt start etc, i fixed it and the limiters back to normal now check it out
yh - should be 7.2k thats what mine goes to. It is pretty harsh thou - only done it once in 3 yrs and that was by accident and it did feel like someone had slammed the brakes on. D
Worth getting rev counter checked for accuracy? MOT station gas analyser with clip on ht lead compared to your dash? There is a way of getting the MFA into a diagnostic mode and it gives a digital rev counter, only in 20rpm increments tho. Cheers for that, ill check the rotor arm pascal, i think my cars to early for the diagnostic trick, wouldv bin nice to do tho, il check my rev counter with a timing light or MOT equipment as u say GVK Pesky limiter!
I've never hit the limiter in mine... do I drive like a granny? I did locate the limiter in my g/f's Lupo 16v Sport though and it was pretty harsh, thought I'd run over something hard!
