other than the slapping that coming his way.take note of the seller of the vr6 turbo conversion so how do you think it will be faster on a different car? vw action is the last show of the year for me what with going on holiday in mid september. then the car will be stripped ready for a bit of re enginering for next year so i may set the car up at vw action to run max boost just for the crack plus i want to see how long a k03 weed blower will last doing it BOOM reckon it would be awesome to get the AA to take me home long 3 hour drive after a weekend of BEER |

Hmmmm...... the debate kinda got spoilt by a lot of BS from HIGHLINE, thankfully he seems to have fallen off the radar now. Fact is, 2 more cylinders + 1 more litre, is always going to be in your favour. If you have a lot of money, then the VR6T route is going to outperform a 1.8 20vT, simply from having 1½x the displacement. BUT, it will cost a lot of money (thankfully helped by the weak $), more so than a tuned 1.8T. Its a close call once you factor in limited funds, too. As you know I'm not totally unfamiliar with the VR6 engine, and Mk1s, and I honestly believe a supercharger or turbocharger will not fit, not without significant bodywork modifications (such as cut & relocated chassis leg, or bulkhead mods).
For a drag racer, nitrous is a cheaper and more sensible route to take (on either engine). |

A Good Nitrous setup and a good pair of Hoosier or M/T Slicks. A good set of rubber will save you 1.5 sec on the 1/4 and thats been proven this year on the strips.
