Golfs on TV

Has anyone else noticed how many Golfs appear on TV/Adverts/Films.

Ones I`ve spotted:

Snickers ad; red Mk1 run over by Mr.T in a tank.

ING ad; Mk1 parked up and another drives past.

BT ad; White Mk1 (possibly cab) parked up.

Philidelphia ad; Two girls driving white Beetle in Heaven,
all other cars are white Campers/Mk1`s

Peep Show; Jez got given a Mk2 (on three spokes )

Crank; Jason Statham drives yellow Cabbie at the end

Ronin; in the big chase through Paris I`ve counted 12 Mk2`s

Other programmes seem to have a large number of VAG cars in them too, from Mk5 Gti`s to Audis.
Seems VAG is a favourite with props people!

Anyone spotted any others?

 

In the ING ad it's a mk1 parked and a 5dr mk2 that drives past.

 

Ive noiced in alot of adverts that are in streets etc they all use VW's. Strange

 

Ive noticed this as well, although i think that its because when you own a car you start seeing loads of them. I took a 406 coupe in part ex the other day and have been driving that around and have suddenly noticed there are 4 of them within a half a mile radius of my house.

Also maybe the fact that Golfs are one of the most common cars on the road.

 

There is a cabbie on the end of the film fun with dick and jane.
There was a mk1 or 2 in the BP/costa coffee ads that were on during the F1 last year too.

 

Those adverts for Lamb with the cricketers on them - every car in the street's a mk1 Golf.

 

Meryl Streep in Fatal attraction had a Mk1 Scirocco. cant remember who it was but someone got run over by a black Mk2 GTi in Eastenders.

 

there is a wesbite somehwere which lists every mk1 cab in any tv show... loads of them.

most adverts seem to have mk1s in ive noticed too... the only reason i can think for this is lots of adds filmed in SA?? just with english dubbing

hahah yeah the one for beef where every car is a mk1 with a zender kit?

 

Theres a Jetta GTI in Hot Fuzz!
Not TV i know, but publicity nonethless!

 

blue mk2 in eastenders quite often

 

Theres a red mk1 cab in Shallow Hal.

 

Aye, and it needs its alternator belt tightening.

 

There are some parked Mk4s in the film 'Science of Sleep'.

 

There is sometimes a jetta on the street in Striker in The sun.

 

Forgot about Hot Fuzz and the beef ads!

Watched Layer Cake last night. Daniel Craig knocks about in a tasty RS4.

And there`s another film (The Ring, I think) where the main character drives a Mk2 Jetta.

(I won`t bother mentioning the one in Fast and Furious!...oh...I just did!)

 

Theres also a Mk3 that briefly comes booting it round the corner in Shaun of the Dead.
