Hi there everyone i`d like to show you a few pics of a golf i`ve been building for about a year now.

It all started in about 1999 when i bought a 1.3 golf C for 550 and started to modify it with the usual alloys bumpers loweing springs and the like, all very good but i soon got power thirsty and decided to build 1.8T golf syncro. I managed to get some good quarter mile times out of until someone crashed into me so then i converted the 1.3 golf to syncro transmission and the 1.8T engine until i lost intrest in that.

So then i went out and bought a audi s2 avant and used this as the base of my golf project. I had allways had the idea in my head to spaceframe the front end of a golf to make room for the bigger engine and keep the quattro transmission as audi intended, i suppose i was just waiting for my fabrication skills to catch op with my ideas[:D]

    Hello mate,

Simply awesome MK2 - I have seen this a few times before, via links I've seen on other forums.

It's great to see you appear on this forum too and keep the pictures coming.

Your fabrication skills are just simply bloody awesome.

I should be on the road in a few months ready for a mapping session before next years shows and track days so the pics will be getting a lot more intresting very soon. The limiting factor is money i`ve only managed to blow about 10k on it so far by doing everything myself including the spray job:p but it`s christmas now so im struggling a bit.

Is there any additional structure to be added at the bottom of the spaceframe at the front, for rigidity?
