Hi guys, i recently got a set of twin dellorto 40s i believe from an esprit turbo or they are the same models as the ones used i also have a brand new inlet manifold and a 1.8 cylinder head on its way.

Anyway i was wondering if i got a garret T3 turbo or similar, plummed it through the carbs, would it be ok? i also have a set of G60 pistons, could you tell me if the pistons would fit a 2.0 or only a 1.8 not sure if the bore size is different. I think this would be a nice set up. please tell me your thoughts and advice, cheers.

    Thanks, Mike

Did the old Mini Turbos use T3s? They run on carbs

They must have the rubber gasket on the top, and not the paper gasket. Shoould really be SP carbs too for turbo application.

Unless they have changed their design, back in the eighties, Dellortos were not suitable for forced induction Webbers however were. Also they are quite difficult to set up.
