![]() As some of might know I am racing in the Welsh Sports Car Championship 2008 at Pembrey and Anglesea this year. Held over 7 events each containing 3 action packed races per weekend. ![]() A bit of info on the series, it has had a major revamp this year aiming more towards saloon’s rather than specialist sports cars ie: Jade’s and Radicals by imposing a 60sec minimum lap time. This has encouraged many racers to bring out their saloons and enter in this up and coming race series. ![]() Racing is split into 4 classes A,B,C,D. Im in class C over 2ltr and turbo’d class, A is up to 1600, B up to 2ltr and D, Touring cars and specials, to be very brief. Here are a few pics from saturday's racing on a wet track with light rain. ![]() ![]() Back in the rain again ![]() Bouncing off the curbs in the wet More pics from Sundays 2 races to follow and some race reports as well Last edited by pascal77uk; 1st November 09 at 22:44. |

Hi Mike my next race weekend is in May on the 10th and 11th.
I had a good start to the season Qualifying in 12th and finishing 8th in the first race, 9th in the 2nd race and 7th in the 3rd race. Scoring 20 championship points and picking up 2 trophys for x2 3rd in class finishes, the other was 4th in class. The car is well sorted, it is set up by Dave Turner and myself. We have got it about right at the moment it feels really settled on the Pembrey circuit a joy to drive. We have some new developments for the next race so the car is constantly evolving and so is the driver. TBH the car is a proven package and has won the VW cup in the past and we are just fine tuning it atm. The car has recieved a full engine, drive train and chassis rebuild last year. So she's fresh and better than ever, back to her former glory .Links to the full race report and tables are as follows. Full race Report http://www.wrda.co.uk/2008_news/pemb...9_apr_2008.htm Results table and class tables http://www.wrda.co.uk/2008_news/2008...p_overall_.htm http://www.wrda.co.uk/2008_news/2008...p_class_po.htm I am waiting on a CD form a press photograher who was at the circuit for Sunday's photo's. As soon get them i will post them up

TBH the Vtec's have the same power as me and are 60 Kilo's lighter with Independent rear suspension, which makes them a excellent handling car.I made up 2.5 sec's on my Dry lap times over the weekend as im still learning the track. A lot of the Honda racers are local lads who have a huge amount of knowledge of the circuit. The pics are from the first race and by the end of the weekend i was as quick if not quicker than them, if you look at the lap times. TBH Im just really happy to be out there and not to worried about results and who is quicker. All the lads are great sportsmen and i enjoy racing with them. My main aim this year is to learn my racecraft and have fun

Good stuff, Im hoping to do some racing in a mk2 golf 16v on carbs in 2009 but will prob be 2010 by the time I get myself and the car sorted. With only an estimated 180bhp and a complete amature driver I wont be competitive but will defantly enjoy myself.

I think the Castle Combe championship is on the bank holiday monday 5th (Husqvarna Springtime Raceday) so could go to your race on the weekend. Do you race on the Sat or the Sun or even both? Cheers Mike

TBH i will be very gutted to miss the trip this year and when we were planning it i did vote on a altenative date but as its down to the majority vote i couldnt do much about it. Thanks for the comments on the car too, we are running very high poundage springs which makes the car handle like a go kart. But as they say grip is all to do with tyre pressure
