I am looking to upgrade my inlet manifold. I have seen ones from jabbasport , APR and JBS is there any other worth looking at ?

Anyone use one of the above and can give me some feedback.

I would like to get a larger trottle body at the same time is the R32 one the way to go ?

What spec are you running then. My understanding is the std manifold isn't really restrictive under 400bhp.

R32 TB is larger but once again not restrictive until you're running serious boost & power

Running about 430 but with a bit in reserve and have a nitrous system ready to be used next year so I would say up to 500 bhp.

    have a browse here>> http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171919

300bhp cars gained significant power on those tests.
test car was smallport, smallport SEM manifold with 80mm t'body.
    impressive gains vs stock intake

largeport gains will be higher to the limits of what the turbo can pump.
my own 007 mani, made me 32bhp bolt on on 485bhp

have a read thru my section on the SEM inlet manifold.
nice gains are to be had.

I like the look of the SEM one and you cant argue about the power gains but the throttle body is at the wrong side for me.

The only way I could make this work is to move the charge cooler which might not be a bad idea as it would shorten the pipe work.

    Not really the case.

007 in those tests was, and SEM outflows 007. (waiting their test data)

bench tests are an indication on port flow and balance.
agreed its not 1:1 correlation, but 007 & the new SEM will head the tables in flow and balanced flow abilities.

SEM is $825, Hypertune is >$1100

007 mani on my own motor gained a real 32bhp/22lbft bolt on from a previous dual plenum largeport manifold. Nice gains for bolt on. 007 worked well, SEM is designed by the same guy, flow modeled, and unlike the 007, is available for sale now.

Not saying Hypertune is'nt good, but its the most expensive and not the highest flowing, so I dont see how it can be deemed the "best" out there. One of the best... but best bang for buck it is'nt ever going to be.

    and lest us not forget:
    Which this is of course.

I have the flow models of the SEM if wanted.

I have posted dyno's of stock vs smallport SEM and the gains measured. Do you have any comparisons for the Hypertune? be interested to compare them..

    :)

recommended is largeport one + transition gasket & 80mm throttle.
posted prices now in badger section.
    *subject to ForEx*

I have 2 on their way to me now.. one for badgerwagen and one for stock. both largeport & 80mm throttle.
My 007 largeport with R32 t'body will be 4-sale once SEM arrives and is fitted.

The inclusion of a phenolic transition insulator gasket is what allows the largeport mani to fit your head... and allows you future porting plans.

Mine are supposed to be on their way this next week.

bolt on physicaly. some hoses to connect.. probably good idea to get a few lengths of silicon hose from forge (or me) so all vac lines can be changed whilst doing it. some of the hoses are getting crusty. If changing from one side to t'other t'body wise, you will also need to extend the wiring to the throttle on the lhs (of car)
