Just to add another thread to the mix. This mk3 is a daily but will see some 1/4 mile and light track action next year.

I have set some goals for this project.
1: keep the car as practical as possible, it's a daily after all.
2: a nice wide spread of torque to help pull the mk3 along with.
3: keep the cat for mot and road side CO checks.
4: try to dampen the eaton whine.

The price of mk3's has hit the floor, I've never been a big fan of the mk3 but that this price I couldn't turn it down, having driven many mk3's is one thing but living with one day to day is totally different. They drive well and are soild, Once on coilovers they handle well and safe plus stop well too, plus on the 16Vs you get the 02A CDA box which is a bit too long of N/A but works well with a boosted engine.

    Here it is.

Came with this hot air cone filter kit LOL

Found a std airbox and removed a few bits I didn't need.

Smoothed the inside and blocked off the hot air feed at the rear and opened up the cold air feed at the front.

A mate found these for me. Big thanks Al!

    Cheers Matt!
This is the 3nd car I've put on weitechs and I've found they to work well. Have also fitted they to mate's cars and they all seem happy. Pop down dude for a test Matt.

well i think im about to reinvest in some coilvoers... this time ill try to test them before i buy and not end up up the creek like i have with the eibachs.

ill keep an eye on this thread. there was an eaton mk2 abf at the amd rr day. i think that made 240bhp and had a great power delivery

That mk2 was my old daily[:$] it went from 8v to 16v abf on Toyotec M/S, before I sold it to him I took him out in my eaton'd powered mk2 and 6 months later he came back...LOL that thing is all about torque, loads and loads of it.

7 or 6.5 is all good dude, as long as the tyres(195/45/16) are not stretched.

    Will update this soon.
