    Hi
Anyone wired up a aftermaket ECU and got the feed to make there rev counter work
i wonder if i need some adaptor circuitry or something

My car is a J plate mk2 and untill now i have always used coils , but now on coil packs so guess its not a straight wire up job

Its a Motec M4 system with Ignition Expander i am using , seems to have 3 aux outputs you can configure

found this site which seem to have lots of parts http://www.m-cal.com/ but not what i am after i think

    Cheers

I'm running mine off my Ford EDIS. Needs a couple of resistors from Maplin to work.

If that's any use, I've got the details somewhere (probably in my build thread too).

emerald sell a converter box for about 30. connect four coil wires in and one wire out for the tacho. using one on my mk2 working a treat!

Thanks for the replies i also mailed m-call and got this reply so will try this first

So what you need to do is go to your local Maplin store and pick up a 1k
resistor (also detailed as 1000ohm or 1k0) minimum of 0.5watt (this will
cost around 0.03 to 0.08 each). Then put one side of the resistor to a 12v
ignition feed and "Tee" the other side into the signal line between the
Tacho and the Aux output on the ECU. Configure the output and off you go

Site looks good reckon i will be ordering loom parts through them now
