Does anyone have experience of fitting one touch / comfort indicators to a mk4 golf based car?

VW offer the kit as part number 000 998 229A

    Mk4 thread http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/138352.aspx?PageIndex=1

The instructions are to fit it to golfs and passats 1997-2005 but I'm interested in fitting it to my 2002 S3. I'm hoping it will fit as the cars are very similar.

    Anyone help?

I thought you could get that done via VAG-Tacho?

I think the new shape A3's & Mk5 golfs can have the settings turned on/off using VAG-COM but not the old models.

it should be the same as the a3 is a golf with fancy clothes on, so I dont see it being any different.

My Caddy C20 has this, Its just a simple flick of the stalk then you get something like three or four flashes, Good for over taking on the motorway or slip roads

    Completely pointless `feature` IMO...

I mean, how hard is it exactly to flick the stalk till it clicks on, then click it off...like we`ve been doing for years anyway?...(BMW drivers excepted)

My work`s Merc van has it and to be honest it bugs the sh*t out of me.

I end up thinking about it too much, an either don`t flick it hard enough, or too much, so it just comes on normally...pointless.

Our transits at work have it, when I get into my Seat / Golf / Audi it bugs the hell out of that I don't have the feature...

Was planning on knocking up a circuit to do it one day;)

my audi used to have it, youd touch it and it would flash a few times... good for telling lesser cars (french cars) to get out the way on motorways

Exactly!!!!!! if you want to give 2 or 3 flashes just hold it there till you're done!! Any indication should be a conscious action anyway!
