Hi all, had my car at Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield today for fine tuning on the carbs and mapping of my new Omex 200 Ignition set-up, never thought she'd make what she has so I'm well pleased.... stunned actually....

    201BHP @ 7700RPM
    160Lb/ft @ 5800RPM

Check out the graph. thanks to all who have given me advice on my other threads.

Its an ABF 2.0Ltr, they put the wrong cc on there.

    Fully balanced bottom end.
    Integrated Eng. H-Beam Rods
    Wossner 12.4:1 Comp Pistons
    Dellorto DHLA 45s
    Ashley 4 Branch header
Omex 200 mappable ignition wasted spark coil pack & no dizzy
    Newmann 288deg 11.5mm lift cams
Stock head, not ported (I ran out of money)

Nice one mate, thats a realy nice graph, stillmaking power all the way up!

Have you got a vernier pulley? you could probably add some advance, and make a bit more up at the top looking at that!?

    Thanks Roxy

Not running any verniers (either main pully or cam chain sprokets). All the head work will be done next winter along with verniers and ITBs.

The advance has been mapped all the way up the rev band by Nobel Motorsport. Don't forget this engine has no Dizzy, i'm running a wasted spark twin coil pack.

Are you running any other sensors with the Omex 200? Or literally a loom for the ignition parts - Ford EDIS type setup?

nice graph mate.im running a spec fairly close to you exept i have a ported head and itb's and will be getting it mapped next week.
the rr man says i may run into problems using those pistons due to the high comp and may not be able to run much advance but it dont look like it was a problem for you.
with those newman cams you will get more power by running a vernier wheel and tweeking the timing slightly.

Great result on an unported head. High comp pistons proving their worth - top job.

Nice numbers PAB, can't see the graphs at work but I will check them out later. As Mr Hillclimber and I were saying on a previous thread, a standard VW 16v head flows enough for over 200 bhp, and you have just kindly proved that

Thanks all for your kind words, makes it all worth it

It is running Ford EDIS, Noble said yesterday that its one of the best coil packs you can use. I'm Running a std. ABF Crank sensor (Hall Type) and a Throttle position sensor.... thats all..... Omex said "No need for a MAF sensor as its on carbs and a Water temp sensor is a bodge fix to retard the ignition when it gets hot, just fit a cooling system that works" so i've got a massive oil cooler and a massive radiator, running "Weter Water" coolant additive.

I'm also using a fairly cold NGK plug to try and control any pinking.

    Well done Philip!

    You happy with cams then?

as for p/p head, vernier, itb-s... i'd say leave it alone!

Great power and torque, quit while you are ahead!

Cant wait to see it and hear it at next track day[:D]

Off the shelf pistons PAB, or have you had to machine them for clearance?

Great top line story, getting 12.4s in without verniers and chucking out 200bhp, albeit at 7,600rpm.

Repeatable on OE rods would you say?

    The chokes are 38mm.

Chris, the pistons are stock 12.4:1 Wossner item, had to machine the tinyest amount off the head where the sides of the combustion chambers are flat to allow the dome top of the piston to clear.

Don't think i'd risk running OE rods & bolts that hard, even ARP's in OE rods would be a brave choice for me. My Integ Eng. rods have ARPs in them.

Crispy, I can't wait to run at Cadwell at the end of the month and find out what its like.... On the dyno is sounded totally awesome.... Mental at top revs, spine tingling. [:D]

    Valver power = Big Carbs+Big Cams+Big Compression

Hi there, sorry don't know the make of rolling road. Don't have a print out for the AFR but do know it held steady at around 12.8. Both from the lambda readings they took and the AFR widband clock thats in the car.

Yes Hydro lifters, I won't be reving that high on track.

Any chance of re-scanning the graph with the scale on the bottom included?
