The Phirm can do it, they've just moved to Hartley Wintney i believe. They have a website with contact details etc. if you give it a google.

i thort you can set control pressure with the guages diy but the mod has to be on the rollers for optimum setting and performance no?

to do it right yes but you can do it with out a rolling road

once the wur is up to temp after about 2- 3 min the pressure shoud be between 3.45 to 3.75 bar
with must 16v it is about 3.65 bar all you need to do is remove the brass plug on the back of the wur
and adjust the pressure down to to 3.45bar or 50 psi

this is why some 16v's are better than overs
and all still with in the bosch spec

so is it an actual modification or just a setting back to where it was set 20 years ago when it was new,(like timing and c/o)and as it looks like it was never meant to be tampered with, what causes it to be "needing the mod"or "resetting"
    am i way off here?

that is exactly it all the parts are made to a tolerance so they are interchangeable with each other
that's not to say they will all perform the same

a car with all tolerance in the right ways may make as much 4% more power
than a car them the wrong way

ok makes sense ta,,so how do you mod it diy style, ism it just a case of setting the pressure to a certain figure, like already mentioned 3.65 bar or do you set it a certain way for you own individual engine

i tested my car with the guages first to find out what it was
    it was 3.8bar
i then drilled the brass plug make sure you dont hit the skrew when you brake thru as i did

i then with all back together and started it after 10 mins winding the skrew back till it started
becuse i had moved the skrew with the drill:lol:

i then set it to 3.4bar or 48 psi you need to make sure the car is up to temp before you set it

reset the co by ear and did the timing

    it drives much better now

and the co was 1.994% and the hc was 117ppm a idle at the mot not bad of by ear

just a pity it failed for a rusty sill[:x]
i would say 3.45bar or 50 psi is about right

I'd go to Stealth everytime - well worth the 50-70 for the rolling road plots before and after.

Just make sure it's running well before you go - Vince often gets people turning up with 16v's with leaking valve cover gaskets / HT missfires etc
