Love tilt shift! Yours would look better tho if you used the grad. tool in PS to highlight a strip across the frame and do the lens blur around that! Does that make sence?
Please would someone explain tilt and shift to me? I thought it meant the architectural lenses that tilted in relation to the CCD/back of camera so that you didnt get converging verticals. Obviously not.
they are used alot in arcitecture images, but when you use them with a low aperture you can change the plain on the depth of field be it vertical or horizontal. as per usual i havnt explained that very well so try this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilt-shift_photography god bless wikipedia...
Thanks, Sam Never seen it used like that before, but Wiki article is quite good, so with your explanation too, I think I understand it now. Whether I'd ever get to use it is a different matter altogether!
lol, it is great for product photography i had to do a bit for a local pub and it was a great way of using it. it can make some very very striking images (as seen on previous posts...)
Really needs to be an high oblique-angle viewpoint. Good `How-to` here. Step 4 where you draw the vertical line is a real trial and error affair, but you soon get the feel for it.
Just got round to having a bash at this tilt shift malarkey and really enjoying it. Havent taken any suitable shots so used some old ones that were semi suitable: (click for full size)
