I live in Croydon and just been watching the BBC news only to see Reeves's shop in Croydon on fire!!! It has been there for years and I can't belive these little pricks are rioting and setting light to things for the sake of it. I really feel sorry for the Reeves family, I run my own business and can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to watch this all happening. I hope everything works out and is covered by insurance.
I don't know myself about the insurance but I think it sickening that these kids are doing this, they don't have a clue how it effects people!
Guess it won't be long before the Army get called in. Met police won't be able to cope if it keeps spreading from one Borough to the next. Went through Croydon, Tolworth & Kingston yesterday and had a nice afternoon with the missus. Didn't sense anything moody at all.
Its definitely getting out of hand. We have had friends not far from us in Ealing Broadway saying its kicking off there now to. And reports of Westfields shopping centre may be targeted.
bunch of low life little pricks, who needs terrorism when you got ****ers like this in our own country. They'll blame it on lack of jobs, poverty, the government etc. etc. They're just wasters all of them!!
Can't belive how quick it is spreading. I guess that is the trouble with instant messaging/ twitter and facebook....words spreads fast!!
Absolutely disgusting, I hope they send the armed forces in for a bit of a training excersise. These people really have no place on earth in my opinion. It has kicked off in Leeds now too, not sure if it's related but hopefully it won't escalate to the level that London has. Feel so sorry for all involved, their lives/businesses etc torn apart due to a bunch of brain dead, mindless f*ckwits. and breathe......
Agree, Where are the army? Talk about getting out of hand! Why has it kicked off in other places? Didnt this just stem from one guy getting shot
Bloke got shot in Leeds tonight, think it's a bit of a copycat thing, police seem to have quashed it all already, few burned out cars, trashed shops from what I hear.
This is very, very true. Something that has occurred to me so many times lately. I'm hugely into technology like many of us are, and couldn't imagine being without the Internet, mobile phones and everything else we have. But -- I know I sound an old fart saying it -- it seems that people are now just too widely connected, and 'social networking' is so accessible that it's just as potentially explosive as it is a blessing. It gives people the ability to mob together at such an alarming rate without apparent limit. Sure, people have always communicated and organised riots; and there's always been good old TV to spread news instantly. But at least before so-called 'social networking' there was a kind of inherent limiting factor through slower communications. Having cameras on phones is something I'm beginning to hate, because the times when you see people using them most are times like now when people are mobbing together, destroying, burning, injuring.
Trevor, Just viewing all this on sky news now. My thoughts are with you and your family, please mind yourself whatever about material stuff although I know its very hard look on. Brian,
just watched that video gareth put up....that is why the cops need guns! shoot one or two of the ring leaders and see the all run!
