800gs told me a while back that a Nissan Bluebird(I think) rack can be modified to fit, havn't tried it yet though.

Bluebird rack, Primera arms I believe. You'll need to make adaptor plates to get it on the Mk1 bulkhead mounts, and you need to cut and shut the steering column UJ to use Golf bits at one end and Bluebird at the other...

I seem to remember someone saying a MK4 Polo setup would work, but you'll need to weld new mounts.

On the other hand I could be hallucinating.

If you need power steering on a mk1, your rims are too big!

    Cheers,

    Drew.

If you dont need power steering on a MK1, your steering wheel is too big and/or your wheels are too small!

    Cheers,

    Andy.

    Or:

your car is too fast, and changing gear with one hand on the wheel somewhere near a corner is nigh on impossible, and loses time....

    That's where I'm coming from :p

Does anyone know the exact combination of rack and arms to use for the MK1's as I've heard stories of Nissan Micra, Ford Escort MK5 to name a few so who's a clever dickie and knows..........END OF!! :p
