What does the x contact/relief relay do, and what, if any are the symptoms when it starts to play up?
the x relief relay power the no esential electrics in the car. when you crank the car to start it the relay cuts out to give full power to the starter. (thats why your heaters and stuff switch off when you crank) if the relay was faulty the electrics in the car would cut out or work intermitantly. to test it turn every thing on in the car with the ingnition on. crank the car and everything should cut out and come back on when you stop cranking. you can also get similar problems if the ignition switch is faulty, but the relay is the easy option first.
