    Help!!
Wife has a GTi Cab Mk1 and this morning the immobiliser would not turn off.
Found control box and it says-
    Cobra 0802T
    4C0802STF
    TPDP4009
    on the box.
Anyone any idea what might be wrong and how do I kill the bloody thing so I can start the engine.

if you want to remove it completly can you get to all the wires that are connected.
they normaly cut into 3 points. ignition (black wire), fule pump (yellow/red wire) and starter (red and black)

the imobelisers are normaly connected to the wiring by the ignition switch or fuse box.
if your stuck let me know. ;)

Just been out to have a look at it.
On the dash the LED/switch has red, blue and 2 black but I assume that won't help as I disconnected this from the control unit to no avail.
On the control unit (behind dash) there is the cable from the LED thingy and a whole bunch of black wires disappearing into the engine bay.
Also it has two dip switches on there.
Looks like I will have to go to a specialist which sounds expensive. [:^(]

where are you? i could remove it for you.
All you realy need to do if find where the black wires connect to. these should connect to the wires i mentioned before and the you rejoin them.
