Well, the mk1 is in bits at the mo being improved, going to be a while as i need to decide exactly what to do with it - probably get it resprayed etc. The Bora is fine for running around in and all the work miles, but i fancied something fun for the weekend in the meantime.

Originally it was going to be a mk2 VR, but ended up being this as i like to be a bit different....
Built on a very small budget, and in 4 evenings start to finish. Bought the car a rather scraggy looking 2l 8v GTI on thursday night the other week. By tuesday night it was done.

The wheels in the pics are temporary - the last pic has my wheels, but need to do some arch mods to get em to fit properly - which i cant be bothered to do just yet - that can wait for a rainy day. Big thanks to ChrisP for the lend.

Huge thanks to Matt, Nick and Chris for there efforts - really pleased with how well it turned out - and how quick it came about from deciding I wanted to do it.

    Anyway - heres the pics :) :

And with the wheels that'll end up on it:

Exhuast is 3" stainless from downpipe back - loud as feck and sounds mad.

Theres a few future mods to come - Engine is currently pretty standard but wont be for long. Debadged grill, replace that red strip across the tailgate with a black one, bonnet lifters - generally tidy up the bodywork etcetc

now that makes a change! i'd never have thought of that.

Is it pretty much like a mk2 vr6 to drive?

    Rock on, Tommy [:D]

Only other VR6 Ibiza I've seen is when we did a track day at Bruntingthorpe with the Seat forum a few years back.

Nah didnt see that, but theres another Ibiza VR6 on ebay at the moment - i think its the only other one about, only one i've seen so far anyway. probably the one you mentioned gary?
Out of interest - can you remember how it fared on the day? need to get thrashing this and see how it compares with other stuff. Its not been built for mad power, yet. Engines standard, but its enough for a bit of fun - good useable power.

Went quite well from what I remember, sounded pretty good too [:D] It was about 3 if not 4 years ago.

Pretty sure it is the same car as on ebay

Had a look on my old Picturetrail account, was March 2002 @ Bruntingthorpe, my first UK track day.

    Same car as on Ebay.
