Just fitted a new downpipe and sports cat to me A3 only to find that its designed for vehicles with two lambda probes (mine only has one).

Do local exhaust places sell the blanking plug/screws?

I take it they are all the same thread size?

    Ta.

    M18x1.5mm :)

Local exhaust place might have one, when we fit non-genuine CATs they sometimes have a spare one fitted so you have a choice where the probe goes.

Cheers Gary. One other thing, am I looking for a particular type of metal to prevent excessive rusting?

Aah, nice lateral thinking. I just gotta get something temporary in there anyway so I can get to work.

(runs to the garage to give it a go!)

Yup, the plugs I have knocking around in me garage didn't fit.

But Partco came up trumps. They had a blanking screw that fits perfectly. They guy didn't actually know what thye were for and said they'd been in the corner for ages!

    Sorted.

I had to laugh at some of the exhaust fitting places tho. "do you have blanking bolts for lambda probes?" says me.

"Do what.....lamby what?" says the spotty fitter!
