Right. Quick question really. Im using MS2 to control both fuel and spark on my 16vt, however, ive decided that the Ford EDIS system is better than the distributor wasted spark system. So, I need the complete EDIS-4 setup. What vehicles in the UK come with this setup? AFAIK what i need is the VR sensor, EDIS module, Crank wheel, Coilpack and maybe leads(although i will probably use custom as the leads for the valver are long).

i'v been looking in to the same system to run megajolt on my carbed 2.0l 8v.

found the EDIS 4 module on a newer shape escort around 94 i think but can't be sure. i coulden't find the vr sensor but it was raining so diden't look that hard (any ideas?) as for the coil pack, if you get a late zetec one, vw leads fit and you can get the 36-1 trigger wheels from e-bay.

Yeah ive got my eyes on a trigger wheel. Can you not just get the complete system off a zetec? The VR sensor should be connected to a bracket near the crank, just find the trigger wheel and your away!

Newer Fords (including the Zetecs) integrate the EDIS control module into the ECU itself so are of no use to you. You need to be looking at early 90's cars in the scrappies. I got my complete EDIS setup from a mk3 XR2i, they can also be found on Escorts and Sierras. The position of the VR sensor varies. Most of them have the trigger wheel integrated with the flywheel, the sensor is on the front of the block at the flywheel end. Apparently it's only the 1.8 Sierra that has a crank pulley mounted trigger wheel.
