    Corrado should fit, same chassis.

Not sure about Mk3, larger axle bushes. But if the width is the same, i guess you could use the axle mountings that bolt the floor, and fit the larger bushes/axle....if you see what i mean.

MMMmmm early 4 stud mk3 and later 5 stud mk3 (plus axle)

    Now IM confused [:s]

mk3 non-plus (so not gti/16v/vr6 fit i think)...though obviously these are all drum brakes.

    mk3 plus (so gti/16v/vr6) don't.

ALL MK3 beams fit, and there is no hard and fast rule with big and small bushes corresponding to 4 and 5 stud beams either. 5 stud beams always have large bushes, but not all 4 stud have small bushes

The one thing that is a certainty is that all MK3 beams are wider than MK2 beams. The widest available seem to be 4 stud drum braked without the inbuilt roll bar.

If it was me, I'd stick to a MK2 gti replacement, its got the inbuilt rollbar.

you wouldn't have a problem with them unless you like sliding into kerbs??

a 5mph side impact was enough to cripple the wishbone, rear beam and driveshaft... at 70mph i can understand this damage, but it takes the p!ss

...ok, i wouldnt have this problem if snow weren't so slippery :p

I've bent a rear beam with far less than that, three times. A lateral nudge off a tyre wall is enough to do it. Lateral impacts into kerbs are totally unforgiving, even at low speed.

Better to bend the beam/wishbone that rip the mounts out of the floor or
twist a chassis leg - I'd hazard a guess that VW designed them like that.
Interesting about the Mk3 Drum braked beam. If the chassis mountings are
the same distance apart what makes it wider? Are the trailing arms bent out
more, so to speak, or are the stub axle plates further out from the trailing
arms. I only ask as when looking for uprated ARBs I found a company
(Whiteline) that does rear bars for Mk3 - they reckoned it fitted all Mk3s but
the Eibach kit for Mk2 also does Mk3 but not GTi/VR6, thats a diff kit. They
can't both be right. The plot thickens.
And why do we just really really have to know this crap [:s]

The mounting face for the stub axle was further out. Beam tubes are in the same place.

Chris will prolly explain the ARB fitments - I can only hazard a guess that the bars are different thicknesses to work in tandem with the roll stiffness of integral bars where fitted.
