I've been getting calls on my mobile, it rings for 2 seconds and then hangs up. It's a freephone number and when i called it, it said leave a message for some to call me back. can anyone work out who it belongs to? 08000724256
I've had 0800 numbers call me before too I'm currently getting several calls a day from a UK number that I won't answer as I will only answer calls where I recognise the number. They've called me about 20 times in the last few days but won't leave a message, despite my answerphone message saying that I won't answer if I don't know the number and to leave a message and I'll get back to them if I think it's important enough. The number is 01482 304246/3/5/7 if anyone knows. A quick Google search makes me think it's HSBC which I have no dealings with and never have
i've had this & thought it was dodge - turned out to be my bank trying to trace fraudulent activity on my account.. barclays the useless twats could be that ? just ring from a payphone so you dont foot the bill if its not
Well I'm absolutely hopping mad This number rang me several times again today and at about 6pm I actually gave in and answered it in the hope that I would solve their query on whatever they wanted and that would be the end of it. It turned out to be a mobile company offering me a free upgrade (just as I expected). I said I wasn't interested so then they asked if I was happy with my tarriff. "Yes, I'm happy with everything thank you, I'm not interested in anything you have to offer me". I then got questioned as to why I wasn't interested An hour later the same number rings again. Only a different person this time. I asked why I was being called when I'd only been called an hour previously and said I wasn't interested. Turns out they had no log of me being called. So once again I say I'm not interested. 2 minutes later the same friggin number rings me again. By this point my blood is boiling I wasn't rude, but bluntly said that I'd only spoken to someone 2 minutes ago, and also an hour ago. "Oh, so you've sorted your upgrade then?". "Er, no I'm not interested" I replied. "Why aren't you interested?". "Because like I've told your colleagues I'm happy with the phone I've got". She replies "well what you do with your new phone is up to you. If you want to keep your old one you can". I DON'T WANT NEW FRIGGIN PHONE. I was just about to ask to be taken off their computer so they don't ring me again but she hung up on me. For good I hope! What annoys me is that they all addressed me by my first name, and all asked "how are you doing today" as if I'm one of their mates. Two of them even had the cheek to call me darling They also said they were calling on behalf of Orange. Well if that's the case they shouldn't have to ask me which phone I've got because I bought it off Orange in the first place So I get on the phone to Orange to see if they can do anything about it, only to get a recorded message saying "sory, all of our operators are busy helping other people at the moment, you are in a queue and your call will be answered in approximately 21 minutes" 21 MINUTES FFS!! I just hung up in disbelief and will phone them another time when I've calmed down Over the past week these tosspots have called me at least 20 times, with it being 5-6 times a day some days. One of the people that called tonight said she'd been trying to get hold of me all week and that I must be really busy. She obviously didn't get the message when I rejected every call from that number, and that my answer phone message says that I won't answer from unknown numbers AND I'm not interested in an upgrade. Fecking cock-sucking tosspots
Get really abusive, let rip with every filthy word you know. Make extra ones up if you run out - if you need help then contact me, it's one of my hobbies to invent new swear-words. Seriously though, if you give them loads of abuse from the word go then they will complain to their management and you'll be put on the "do not call" list. They complain to management so that after a few people have done it they can go off on 6 months leave on grounds of "stress", because all their complaints have to be logged, and then the management can't really say they did anything to prevent the abusive responses. I suggest as soon as they start you begin with "Listen, you stupid fcking cnt", then launch into a tirade about how you hope they get syphilis........ oh, and it's also nice to say "I own my own business, it has a turnover of 'x' million pounds a year, why would I give a flying fck about saving a few quid a month? You're the one on 12 grand a year working in a sweatshop call centre....."
