    Hi there all,

Just want to show you all what I have been up to over the last year with my mk2 Golf Gti 8v.

This is the car when I bought it over 2 years ago now from London.

Then when I got in back to Northern Ireland I did the following:

    Gas shocks and lower 45mm
    Badge-less grill
    Angle eye head lights
    Crystal indictors
    Vr6 280mm front brake set-up (5 stud)
    22mm master cylinder
    16 Audi TT wheels
    For bug-pack bushing kit
    Vw mud flaps

And this is what she looked like after that:

This is the picture from the Club Gti N.I. Castlewellan which she placed 2nd.

Then to follow this, the diff blow up through the gearbox, not good.

So one thing led to another and this is a list of parts that have went into the golf now:

    17 polished Audi TT comps
    FK Kong sports coilovers
    Alloy back strut brace
    Full stainless steel exhaust system
    4-2-1 manifold
    Audi 80 2.0L block
Crossflow head with big exhaust valves
    Ultimate road cam 285
    Adjustable pully
    Custom made manifold for tbs
    R1 throttle bodies
    DTA management and custom loom
    Waste spark coil pack
    Bigger injectors
    Custom fuel rail
    Fuel power boost valve
    Custom radiator and fan
    Loom all rerouted
    Up-rated engine mounts
Battery and water bottle in boot
    Up-rated head light loom
    Lightened flywheel
    Rebuild gearbox

This is what the engine looks like now:

These are the pictures so far but still not finished, have a polished alloy rocker cover and some more little things

The golf is away at the minute getting mapped.

    All comments appreciated.

Thanks Lads for all the replays.

Since these pictures have been taken I have removed the engine again, this time to make some subtle but effective improvements to increase the look and performance of the donkey!!

I have done the following since

Engine was sent to Triple 7 (aka the master) for more head work and also for him to set the custom cam timing.

Also I have changed the throttle bodies to GSXR 1000 ones. Suzuki rules!
I have manufactured some imitation injectors for the throttle bodies, which I am using to draw vacuum for the brake servo. Picture will follow,

    Mk3 polished alloy rocker cover

    Custom fuel rail modified

    Custom radiator modified

I have just a couple of small engine bay tiding items to complete, and I will then fit the engine again. Once this is completed a couple of hours on the rolling road for final tweaking and the monster will be un-leased on the highway. Oh happy days!!

Love it! Engine bay looks so clean and uncluttered. Are you leaving the trumpets uncovered or using a big foam jobby?
