Has anyone fitted the TT accelerator pedal cover onto a Mk2? Bought one at inters & tried fitting it today, but it looks like the Golfs pedal is about 5mm too wide for the rubber cover of the TT pedal to slip over & fit snugly. Is it job for the grinder or the Dremmel?

Yeah you need a LHD acc. pedal. You'll never get the RHD one to fit. It is very difficult to get on perfectly because i think teh MK2 petal is a little thicker than the rubber allows. It took me about 30 mins of fiddling about with it to get it to fit without falling off again when i was driving......

It is a LHD one - (bought a RHD one before & they're way too small [:$] )

I tried to fit it last night & it seems that the pedal cover is slightly narrower than the Mk2 pedal & like damogti says the Mk2 pedal is quite thick, so the rubber doesn't quite grip it securely.

I'll try it again tonight, after I've bought some elbow grease

I brought a RHD one first of all too [:$]

the hardest part i found was getting the top and bottom rubbers to stay in place while i was doing the sides. I got one side on no probs but the other was a right pain [:x]

TT throttle pedal cover (LHD) needs straightening to fit a mk2 pedal.

That's what I've just done this evening! :)
I had straightened it the other night but the git didn't sit properly on the pedal & the rubber didn't seem to grip very well. Noticed that it still didn't follow the profile of the Mk2 pedal & it was slightly proud at the centre, so a bit of tweaking here & there it slipped on a treat!

for mkII's i 'd actaully go for one brake and one clutch (as you would for mkIII's) and then cut the rubber bobble of the back of the brake, as they have a thingy on the side to stop you gettin your foot caught behind the brake pedal, its on the other side of the clutch pedal

Does anyone know what combo would do for a late 90 Mk 1 cab. I'm guessing it is the same as a Mk 2 but does anyone know for sure before I take the plunge of 20 odd quid.

    Cheers Ed

I made the mistake of getting two TT clutch pedals for my mk2 had to cut the bobble off though now there loose just gonna have to silicon them on. The LHD acc pedal fitted fine after bending it.

Also got a RHD R32 pedal some ejit on E-bay sold me it as LHD, any one want to swap for a RHD one, I'd put it on me mams polo she's getting, but it'd look well daft on a auto.
