    Buy a 4-MO and stick a MK1 badge on it :-)

Rear end and transmission tunnel shall require a bit fabrication work, it will all depend on if its going to be a track car or a road car. Nothings impossible as long as you have an angle grinder and a welder...

Mike T of Jabbasport has done a MK1 Scirocco and Golf with syncro setup and i am sure there are a couple of other MK1 done with 4wd kicking about.

Do a search for the MK2 golf thats running the audi S2 running gear and that will give you an idea of what can be done.

why buy all the bits for a mommoth job then ask about the easiest way to do it? seems a bit odd to me.

To get all this to fit will be a huge job which wich require some good fabrication skills. Im not knocking your intentions or your imagination, but are you ready for all of the head aches?

Shortened audi TT prop through exhaust tunnel
Chop + weld mk2 and Audi TT fr and rear driveshafts
Machined tubing to make hub carriers to take mk2 Golf wheel bearings
Cut out spare wheel for diff
Raised rear turrets 6 inch to fit shocks
Custom made, rose jointed rear suspension set-up

    Thats one way

Good luck but I wouldn’t, the MK1 is too light and nimble to fit such a lump and running gear in it, 20vt and fwd would make a nimble rocket

Good luck with whatever you choose to do

Didnt realise the Caddy project was going to be put in a MK1, not fully up to speed as Ive had little internet access over the last week or so.

If your going to do it then Id mount the engine and box on a the MK4 mounts by altering the top of the inner chassis rails. Ive done it twice and seen few more do it, makes life easy.

Still think it would spoil a MK1, what about an old derby? that would be mint
