if the above doesnt sort it,then it could be a duff foglamp-relay in the fusebox.
if your hazard switch is on the dash then its the bottom left relay.if your hazard switch is on the steering column then the relay youre after is still on the bottom row,but the 4th one from the left.
try swapping the suspect relay with an identical one from elsewhere on the fusebox-its a relay thats used for lots of different things so there will be one or two others nearby that you can use to swap with.

ok cool, that means the output from the dash switch works, as they're fed from the same place. one thing i forgot to ask, what year is it?

re-read orig post, and had assumed wrongly it had front fogs aswell.
if its only got a rear foglamp then theres no relay.

i had the same when i fitted new foglights
the previous owner had cut a wire at the switch to stop the fuse blowing
with the old water filled lights[:s]

if both swiches that youve tried dont have the warning light working(and you know one of them definately works) the brown earth wire to the switch could be a suspect, there also looks to be two fuses in that circuit, fuse 6 (15amp)and fuse 27 (10 amp which is the one on top of the fusebox)

replaced both fuses number 6 and the one on the top, the old where looked ok but changed them anyway

the earth is a good one

ok the wires on the back of the switch with volts from them, grey/yellow 0.06v, white/yellow 0.10v, grey/white 0.13v, brown is earth, grey/blue 12.36v.

ami i missing a 12v wire? think the grey/blue is the dimmer wire although not completely sure

grey/white should be +12v with headlamps on and fog light switch on(feed to the lamp)
    grey/yellow - +12v feed from headlight switch
    brown -12 earth
white/yellow +12v feed to front fogs via fuse 6
    grey/blue +12v from illumination

white/yel is the feed to the front fogs, so unused unless they're there
have you checked relay #7 clicks if fitted, if its there but doesnt click swap in the other 53 relay from the horn socket.
If there isnt one there IIRC there should be a black jumper thing with a grey wire coming out of it pushed into the socket
