twin pole sender replaces the black collar sender (low pressure blue wire) put the blue wire from the stock sender to the twin pole and the other terminal of the twin pole is to the vdo(black/green wire)
as for oil temp you do need a t piece in the back of the head, use the stock sender 049919563A for the mfa and blue audi sender for vdo (which iv not tested to confirm this yet) 049919563B (blue/black or blue/white )cant remember
youl find the light bulb holders in an audi

got the loom from the audi, took the relay out cause i didnt know what that was for and bridged the grey/red and grey/blue together
took the illumination wire (grey/blue) to the grey/blue wire on the cig lighter
brown from the loom to brown on the cig lighter for earth
    black/blue to an ign feed
    grey/brown-dont use
    blue/white to two pole sender
green/black to oil temp sender, for now havnt sorted this with the t piece yet so its just using the mfa one and reads 130 degrees atm,but it should go to the audi blue coller sender in the t,which i think is the part number that ends in B

i did a test between the two senders, the one ending in A read 0.98 ish and B read 2.7 ish
thy seem do differ everytime i test them but i suppose it depends on room temp and body temp as your holding them

i relocated the oil temp sender to the sump plug, because it read 130 deg when connected to the vdo but only 80-90deg when connected to the mfa. it now reads the same as the mfa. could just be luck tho

You need the T piece to run the MFA and the VDO oil temps. I was real confused at first.

You cant just connect two wires to one sensor as you get a '0' reading.

    might be worth a read.

For the lights I hot glued some white LED's to the rear and have an OEM glow to them which is ok with me. Im also looking for the original bulbs and holders.

you can get the bulbs and holders on ebay

i got some led ones so i dont have to worry about changing the bulbs

the holders are the twist and lock type like these:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-Blue-LED-...14&_trkparms=72:1683|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

these are supposed to get power through the tags at the top when they make contact with whatever your fitting them too like the dash light bulbs but as the back of the vdo guages are plastic i just soldered the illumination wires to the back of the bulb contacts

    hope this helps

    VDO Guages

i used this guide when doing my 8v
    http://forum.performancevwmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=37974

i cut the ashtray out of my centre console then cut up a piece of sheet steel and put 3 holes in it to put the audi gauges in (all 3 just fit nicely) and used the short audi loom which came with the guages.

    looks the sex [:D]

doesnt matter if you dont have mfa just wire as per post 7 but you will need the correct sender in the back of the head for oil temp
