If its still on by Inters you can peel it off...

Thank you all for your words of support, there might just be an end to this after all.

Another one of those full Sundays again, watched the GP then got stuck in.

First up was mounting the fuel filter and fuel pipes to the engine bay.
Leon fuel lines with push on connectors, Leon type filter, Mk3 Golf cradle and Mk2 Golf fuel pipe clips.

Did a little work in the scuttle area, fitted the looms together and pulled the boost Vac pipe through which allowed me to fit the lid to the connection box, also got the Lambda probe wiring through into the engine bay.

Also did a little work modding the Leon pollen filter to work on the air intake for the aircon, phots will follow later on that.

Got a lot of the parts together this afternoon so I can see the wood for the trees with what is needed. Old bits re-furbed and a load of new stuff.

After sorting the bits into the correct boxes for assembly I started on the front end sub-assemblys.
    Front hubs.

    Front wishbones.

    Steering rack & track rods.

Then it was onto building up the front subframe ready for fitting tomorrow.

Keep at it Phil - this is the fun part putting it all back together with shiny bits :)

I did some on mine yesterday after the F1, until i nearly broke my hand/finger with a hammer! Gave up shortly afterwards to spend the rest of the day with family as its Easter after all

Had a lie in this morning... I'm fibbing, woke up like someone switching on a light at half seven, seemed rude not to get stuck straight in...

First up is a big thanks to Craig, Ady & Andy for their time and help today.

Started with getting the car at a fixed height for the front end build up, took off the front rolling jig and away we went with the front sub frame.

    Car up in the air.

    Subframe ready.

    Subframe fitted.

    Few shots from the subframe.

This ones for you Sam. Thanks again for the heads up.

Tailored and fitted a Mk2 steering joint gator.

After that it was strut time, Koni Top adj. built up with Mk2 bump stops, G60 top mounts & Eibach pro springs.
    Before.

    After.

Hubs with bottom ball joints and new ABS sensors. Couldn't mount them as I don't have the captive nuts for the bottom ball joints, sort them tomorrow.

Finally this evening I made good on the engine bulkhead, fitted the cover, brake pedal, brake servo, ABS pump, & clutch master cylinder with pedal.

I've run out of superlatives to use now so I'll just stick with -" Nice work!"

Really Am starting to blush when I read this... thanks.

Had a late start in the Lab today, had some jobs to sort in town. Got out about twelve and finished about half eleven.

Its been all about the back of the engine bay and the scuttle today. Got stuck straight into sorting the brake & clutch pipes.

First up were the feeds from the MC to the ABS pump. I started by finishing the first pipe Ady started last evening then ran the second pipe in.

The third pipe needed the engine mount to be fitted as it runs from the ABS pump to the right front brake and clearance on the mount is required.

After the third brake pipe was fitted the clutch pipe & power steering rack pipes were fitted.

The pipe work heat shield could then go on.

Took a break from the brake pipe flairing tool and moved on to the scuttle area.
Mounted the ECU... Stick back velcro.

As promissed here is the modded pollen filter. It wouldn't fit due to the firewall position and needed to go higher. The simple solution was to cut the top off the old leaf catcher and bond them together, had to be at a slight angle to allow for bonnet clearence. And gives a set of perfect mounts as it fitted as it was in the Mk2.

Just need a pollen filter now.

    Sorted the wiring.

    Mounted the alarm siren
    [IMG]

Then modded the scuttle covers to clear the bits under neath.

Then moved back onto the brakes pipes to fit the left front pipe fronm the ABS pump.

Also sorted out the loom down the drivers side chassis leg and this is how she sits tonight.

I really cant wait to see this finished, your standard of work is amazing, as is the attention to detail!
Dont know if you are aware but the Leon / Mk4 Pollen filter is a known area of potential water leaks, just make sure that the cover is seated properly and all will be fine.

Car looks great, even though I was a little sad to see the Leon scrapped, it was like my old one!
