My VAG unit is showing me that my Golf 4 GTI has a problem with the Barometric Pressure Sensor. Does anyone know where this sensor is located? and what the car uses it for??
MAP sensor, located in the top of your intercooler. Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor - used to measure its boost and control thereof
I don't think it's the MAP, as the Golf 4 GTI does not uses them? (At least this is what I think...) The BARO sensor is used to correct the pressure with the altitude the car is at (higher the altitude, lower the O2, worse combustion). Not really sure where it's located on a Golf IV but the parts numbers are: This is for a AGU VAG: 853 919 562 Universal Bosch number: 0 280 101 001 Cheers! This is how it looks:
golf 4 DOES have MAP on all dbw models (majority of them), early Me3.8 AGU ones dont.. Is this sensor off yours?
Yap, it sure is! I thought that EVERY Golf IV was a AGU engined car. But I'm wrong than! Is the baro sensor present on dbw cars?
no MAP sensor is. located in outlet of SMIC most UK MK4's are dbw model, made for several more years than the first big port AGU ones. DBW ones generally have K03s as std, where AGU ones were K03
