There appear to be two different designs of Ronal R8 wheels.

This one is shown in the 1988 VW accessories brochure:

There are no part nos., it states 'various'. Prices are from 110 to 132. One would presume the lower price for 6x14, and the higher for 6x15?
    For comparison, a complete 6x14 P-Slot is 171.

This appears in various undated VW accessories brochures, C1990. Photo borrowed from BlueStorm's ad.

Part nos. are all over the place: 601VAG033 (Brouchure) - 601VAG040 (Oct 90 Prices) - 601BBS040 (April 91 Prices - Misprint?). All above are 6x14 and prices are: 149 and 152.
The undated, C1990, 'SPORTING highlights' brochure shows this wheel and offers 6x14 and 6x15.

    Can anyone clarify this matter.
I would like to know if materials and manufacturing methods differed?

my understanding was, there were many variations on a theme, the audi quattros used at least four different version of the wheel, a 6,7,8 and 9 inch all 15 inches in size and a 14 x 6 too.

    Recieved this from Ronal.
He talks about Audi and VW wheels in the same breath, but surely Audi used 4x108 and VW 4x100?
    Found another one!

    Hi David,

    thank you for your message.

If we are talking abourt R8 we can't talk about just 1 wheel.
R 8 has been produced in many different sizes and versions for many
    different car.

First of all we have to devide the wheels into o.e. wheels and aftermarket
    wheels.

The R8 styling has been an O.E. wheel from Audi. Audi offered it in
different sizes and colours for different car models. They didn't call it "R8" .
All these wheels had an Audi o.e. part no. and a cap with the Audi logo.
As far as it is still known only Audi offered this wheel as o.e.
Volkswagen didn't offer this wheel but this is not sure.

Ronal offered the same or a very similar styling named R8 as an aftermarket
    wheel for many different cars.
    The sizes have been 5,5x13, 6x13, 6x14, 6x15, 7x15 and 8x15. All these
wheels have a Ronal part no. and
a Ronal branded center cap. Depending on size, offset and version many R8
    wheels look a little different
and the styling has been modified during its product life. In addition
there has been a version called R8T
in 7x15 with a polished deeper outer rim. We think that the wheels on the
    second image are R8T but
to be sure we would need the part no. The wheel on the first image might be
an Audi o.e. wheel or an
early aftermarket R8. If we would have the no. we could also give more
    detailed information.

The nos. 601VAG033 etc. are something special from Volkswagen UK. VW UK
    bought regular Ronal branded
R8 and R8T aftermarket wheels and offered them in the Volkswagen UK
    accessories brochure with an "official"
VW accessories part no. These nos. were only for the use of the VW UK
organisation and you will not find these nos. on the wheels
or on any official documents, brochures etc. from Ronal.

All these wheels have been produced in the Ronal factories and there is now
    difference in materials and production.

We hope that these information are helpful to you.

Mit freundlichen Gren / Best Regards

    i.V. Christian Lchner

I don't want them for sure, 14" and 4x108 PCD. Just posting that these are still available, even at a silly price.
As they were standard on lots of Audis, there must be lots about 2nd hand.

If I had 260, I would have bid for the 15" P-Slots that just sold on e-bay.

Any way, I still need part nos for 6x15 - 4x100 PCD R8s for the Golf.

Then I can check the VW Classic Parts Centre and see if they are still available and what the silly prices are that I can't afford!

Sorry not to reply before. Forgot I'd done the search because of the down time!

The only 811 601 025 part to come up has suffix Q, and is a wheel cover.
I guess the cenrtre cap for these wheels?

I have had one quote from VW Clasic parts:
    027133779A Connecting Pipe = €49 + €9 p&p
This is the small vacuum pipe + rubber elbow close to the coil on the EV.
    Way outside my price range!

Can't find the steering column gaiter on the site though!

Why don't VW quote prices with the search, as Audi do?

I had forgotten vagcat existed, thanks.
You had me going for a while there!!!!!
I should have spotted they were Audi 80 part numbers. I used to have an 80 coupe, bought it because it did not have a sunroof, and could not find a GTI without then. That problem's solved now!
No wonder they did not come up on VW Classic parts.
No good to me though 4x108. Or did VWMS use 4x108?
Haven't worked out how to search Audi Classic parts by part number yet. It's all in German and says they will not supply outside Germany/Austria.

Yes, I see what you mean. Never spotted before that both 4x100 and 4x108 are listed for Audi 80s. My 80 Coupe and 90Q 20v (Now 5x112), were 4x108, so I assum, wrongly, that all 80s and 90 were!

    You're brilliant. Thanks
