<from another thread> Get a "Birth Certificate" for your VW: https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/volkswagen-zertifikate.html
It's probably date off the production line, spec, options etc. Ordered one for the Mk1 today so I'll update when it comes through.
Yes, The birth certificate gives basic info on original build date (exact day), colour codes, option codes etc etc And they were all given individual German names (only joking! Nice to have though Regards Neil Birkitt
If that's all it is. I've wasted €35 of my wife's hard earned wages. I only ordered it hoping to crack all of the unusual option codes! Don't appreciate the statement: option M268 cannot be identified. Not what one would expect from VW, or is it? By the way! Don't hold your breath. I've been waiting six weeks now.
Try looking under the carpets to see if the original build sheet is still there. One of mine was stuffed in the carpet join under the passenger's seat. That's the real birth certificate!
Nothing under my carpets now. Even got rid of the water! If a build sheet was there it would have been pulp!
Just e-mailed Susanne, told her I want my money back if option codes aren't all listed. Also, sent her a link to this thread.
i dont care how made it or when or even where but i do need some death certificates for some of my vw's
Bit slow rubjonny! As I predicted, a waste of €35, except: M 085 Increase of the standard equiped fuel delivery. Sounds interesting! M 476 Yes I have a spare tyre. M931 means one of the cheap-skate previous owners didn't fit a passenger mirror after they had smashed the first one off. Don't have G49 on the sticker, it is N45 = front suspension? Yes it has got front suspension! N71 anyone? Rear suspension?
Sorry about that, must do better M 931 means plain mirror glass, i.e. not wide angle like the driver side. will check the others!
