ixdb dat and ppthumbs files

just got a floppy from a friend which was meant to have some pictures on istead there is a hidden ixdb.dat file
what is it?

also in some of the folders in my docs there are ppthumb files just appeared

is it okay if i get rid of them?

PaperPort Thumbnail Images (Hidden file: PPTHUMB.PTN)

I think he's stored them using PaperPort.

Not sure if theres a free viewer available though.

 

if there is a .MAX file then you can use this viewer to see the pics

 

just looked and on one account the ppthumb.ptn files are hidden and on the other there not so shall i just hide them, ive read that if i delete them the next time i open paper port they will come back
