Anyone know what the spring rates are for the following:

    1. Original MK1 Golf GTI springs front and rear?

    2. Eibach ProKit MK1 Golf GTI springs front and rear?

    TIA

I think the Eibach spring rates might be published on their website; look for the TUV paperwork.. ;)

It all looks fairly self-explanatory really (spring OD, wire diameter, no. coils, unsprung length) however I can't see any rates though :(

Meant to have posted this a few days ago....

    That's a heck of a memory

    CCC, Dec 1994:
Mk1 spring rates - OEM Front Rear
    First rate 85lb/in 52lb/in
    Second n/a - linear 58lb/in
    Third n/a - linear 65lb/in

Uprated ones were 53.5lb/in & 70lb/in front-rear respectively, as you say, lower on the fronts than OE.

I thought that when I fitted Eibachs to the 'rocco daily. Seemed to squeeze up more easily than the stock ones.

Still work well on the road though, with Koni TA Dampers.
