    Morning all,

I know there's a million threads and posts out there for athe 02j/o2a and hydro clutch conversion into a MK2, but I found this link today in my daily internet rummagings which mentions a reinforcement plate I haven't seen before??

    http://myweb.whitman.syr.edu/srotblat/swap/trans.htm

    The plate looks like this:

I'm assuming this still requires beating the firewall flat, unless this plate needs to be cut and welded in?
    Cheers,
    Tim.

Is it not part of the hydro pedal box? I'm sure mine has some sort on plate inside the car.

thats a LHD part, not required for RHD

Ahh, interesting. I did some more digging this morning and most of the info does seem to be on American sites, looks like this Corrado part also has 4 bolt holes for the brake servo rather than the 3 on the MK2 servo? I haven't taken mine apart yet to check the fitment though.

So beating the bulkhead flat should be strong enough to directly mount the clutch master to the firewall? I know this is a common solution, but is it the best...

    mk2 has 4 holes as well ;)
the part above is fitted to mk2 and corrado LHD with hydro clutch, RHD corrado/passat with hydro clutch do not need the part its just all bolted direct to the bulkhead

It will be fine. The main support for the clutch master cylinder is the pedal box.
