I don`t `get` the whole straight line thing, spending a fortune to accelerate for a little under 15 seconds is something I can`t get my head round.

However, I still enjoy reading the build threads, I`ll keep my eye on this

I`m sure there are plenty of the straight line guys who don`t see the point of going round in circles either lol

    Lol sp fixed, i think

Qtr mile racing is alot more exiting and skillful then most falk think, i enjoy going round in circles to :)

Power wise i will not go above 550-600 bhp because possible gearbox issues untill i get 4 speed drag dog box that is then power can go higher

Going to be quite alot of fun in a Lupo, will try and keep weight around 780-800 kg

I have started rebuilding my A3 for going round in circles and hopefully keeping up with Nige heheh, once that is out of the way Lupo project starts :-D

As long as it stays in straight line down the qtr then its mission accomplished :)

Using lightweight assembly of empty block and gearbox casing as well as bored out cyl head all bolted together as one for mocking up mounts and positioning in the bay where i want it

Due to the size of 6 speed 02M g.box it simply does not fit between shassis legs so a bit of crude surgery was required

I am using whole complete audi S3 running gear from front to rear including front and rear subframes, steering rack, wishbones, suspension, brakes, shafts ect ect for mainly one reason and that is less custom parts to make oem reliabilty and ease of replacements is something does break

Mounting subframe needed some fabrication to ensure it will not fall out during the launch at start line!

Fabricating oem mounts locations into tiny lupo shassis legs is chalenging, also making sure transfer box will fit and propshaft donut will clear everything

It took alot of faffing about to position engine/box into the bay so everything will clear and work just like in an S3

Managed to fabricate very strong bracket for g.box mount and currently fabbing up driver side

Sneak preview of how it will look

Forgot to add, car will probably start as a Fwd but am bearing in mind that i will need to do 4wd conversion in near future so all fabricating is done with that in mind

I am going to try and run full length S3 wheelbase to make car more stable at speed

No pics to show but it is now sitting on S3 full running gear up front and iv managed to gain about 30-40mm in wheelbase length already on the front axle so the rest will need to be made by moving rear wheels backwards some 120mm at least

Will be one Phat looking Lupo due to track width and length and will need some BIG arches!
