Right, I've got an annoying problem with my Mk4, which has got worse.

A couple of years ago I installed a sub and amp into my Mk4. Once I was finished I went to lock the car via the key fob and nothing happened ?

Thinking it was the key fob, I decided to use my spare key, which also didn't work, so I manually locked it.

Next day, I unlocked the car via the key, and 10 secs later the alarm was sounding! You basically have 10 seconds to turn the ignition on to stop the alarm from sounding.

I got used to it and didn't bother doing much about it for a while.

Then a few months ago, the rear passenger side door will not open at all!! Its completely stuck shut ? The opener inside pulls towards you, but feels like its got some resistance and is holding back.

I've also noticed that when I lock the door inside via the central locking button next to the electric window button , sometimes some of the doors wont open or lock ?

Anyone else had similar problems ?

And what could it be ?

    Cheers.

    Richard.

Btw its not a fuse ;)

Did you have trouble with your key fob and alarm then mushy ?

What about my stuck door ?

And would a dodgy convenience system cause this.

    :)

See with mine none of the fobs work at all, and my alarm sounds after 10seconds if the ignition is not turned on ?

I wonder if vag-com would flag up the error ?

Its been like this for 2 years now, and now my rear door is stuck shut !!

the boy i got my 4motion from got a polo for his son it only had the one key and the central locking didnt work and a few other thing we fixed
i scan it for him and it came up with a faut for the convenience module we tested all the locks all ok
i gave him a fip key to get cut so i could code it once he got it cut
he also got a new fob he's a oem freek so the market stero got removed for a oem one
    central locking started working
