As title really, has anyone successfully fitted Rs Turbo Recaros into their MK2 Golf ?

I might be getting hold of a set, but just want to know if its an easy swap.

I know I'll need Mk2 subframes mounted to them, but is this just a case of having someone weld them in for me ?

Would Mk2 Recaro subframes bolt to these RsT Recaros ?

Cheers in advanced.

Pictures welcome too

The holes don't line up on the ford recaro's two mk2 recaro subframes
You'll need to make them fit

Noooooooooooooooooo lol

So its just a case of getting a set of Mk2 subframes and having them welded up ?

Or will new holes need drilling to accept them ?

You would be better getting or making subframes
The trick is to keep them low down in the car
You can drill new holes in the subframes or drill and fit rivitnuts to the seats

Sure you'll manage

Spot on Mushy, cheers.

I think I'll go ahead and buy them. I'm sure I'll be able to do the above fairly easily.

The price of Mk2 Golf Recaros these days are just stupid ! 900 + for sets with ripped bolsters ect.

there is a set of mk2 Recaro's for 750 on ebay just now they are ok but not mint
but you can get colour concept leather Recaro seats for half that or less same go's for the ford seats
pus you get leg adjustment on the ford seats

it depends on which ford they come from, some are the same as any recaro underneath some have an extra bit of box section with 4 captive nuts in. you can chop all that extra bit off and you're left with a flat base just like any other recaro, then its just a case of weld in 6 captive nuts (holes are already there for you) or 6 rivnuts, or whatevs and std mk2 recaro bases bolt right up

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]I've put fiesta rs turbo recaros in my mk2 and your best bet is to get a couple of old golf seats and cut the front mount bit and 2 back legs off and weld up square frames and weld these parts on them and bolt the seats on.......sounds easy but it takes a bit of savvy with a welder, my mate made mine I even fitted the fiesta rear seat. It's well worth the effort as I only paid 120 for mint fiesta seats.
