    Hi
This golf has been with me a while now and is making some decent progress of late.
Engine conversion had been done maybe 10 years ago now, and ran a vf34 ihi (jabba) kit, but the owner wanted more, and the ihi's downpipe was very cracked.

Plans discussed, and evolved ever since, which wil make this one of the fastest mk2 fwd golfs potentially in the country.

Widetrack being part of the build, utilising vr6 front hubs (plus axle) with 4x100 drive flanges, and longer drive shafts. The car runs lightweight 7x15 pro race 1 rims, which will be retained. Brakes being a must have on the power potential this car will have.

Tricky as hell to fit as large a disk as possible onto the 7x15 et35 rim, on VR hub. Pictures below show whats occuring.. :)

304x28 2-piece custom brake setup, using AP Pro 5000+ 4-pot calipers and ds3000 pads (same calipers and pads as badgerwagen runs)

Squeazing these in ther 7x15 et35 rim is proving a challenge, but we look to have just about sussed the geometry

    some pictures below

    304mm x 28mm rotor and Pro 5000+ AP 4-pot caliper
    [IMG]

car sat on the ground on its new widetrack, big braked setup

and despite the wide track, with some suitable negative camber the wheels do still just about stick under the wheel arches (just)

Engine wise, its getting S60 DTA ecu (like badgerwagen), GT30R turbo, and 38mm tial external wastegate, Badger5 narrow angle merge collected tubular exhaust manifold, ceramic coated, 3" downpie, vband everything, 830cc injectors, and the usual custom pipework we do to hook it all up.

Its existing largeport cylinder head has been fully rebuilt & ported with all supertech valves and springs, so the higher rpms its capable of will be coped with. Engine had been previously built with small overbore on mahl pistons, stock compression, pauter rods etc.

Rear is also going widetrack by +20mm per side with stub axle spacers, so the car should be well and truely planted when on track.

more when i take more pictures

can you please post up how you achieved vr6 widetrack yet retaining 4 stud?

guessing are you using vr uprights, bones and shafts, getting mk2 hubs presse into the vr items, then swopping outer cv's to mk2 items as they use a different spline?

Rolling starts are cheating Bill

Nothing like a little healthy competition ;) Think I may be giving away bout 50bhp to him tho [:^(]

    Hi Bill,

Running 400bhp at the mo, but thinking of winding the boost up a little :)

When I spke to Gary he was saying he was going to run a "conservative" 450bhp, but I get a sneaky feeling that you may twist his arm on that one right ;)
