Hi, Does anyone know what the wheel sensor position should be set to for a ABF 60-2 wheel? This is what mine is set to but I think it could be wrong Cheers
Is this right it's like the other vw motors (ABA, VR6, 1.8T etc), it's 60-2 and you can use it .. set to 78 deg
Typical Peugeot setup 60-2 setup is 6deg between teeth (360deg / 60 teeth = 6 deg) Tooth number 20 lines up with sensor at TDC, so tooth 20 to 1 = 19 teeth Therefore 19 teeth x 6deg = 114deg (Tooth #1 Angle) from here http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2-Extra_Miss_Tooth.htm
Still no joy using the 78 setting, with it set to 114 it would fire and spark but didnt on 78 Bloke at emerald said it was 85 for the older vw 93 -96 ( i think) or for the newer stuff 120
Update, 85 works for some reason I'll change it to 78 once its all running. Not sure why it didnt work first but put a new battery on to help it turn over and off it went
78 seems work fine also had to set the starting tooth to 1 instead of 0 Should the timing on idle be set to 6 degrees with the gun when ideling about 900rpm?
15 on mine is used for cranking. When running it has a setting of 13. But i also have an idle advance control that reduces angle to 8 once over a certain temperature. This is because the idle seems to increase too high as it gets warm. The idle setting helps to keep idle around a 1000. Its due to the base idle setting needed for cold starts as i dont have an ISV yet. A lower spark angle at idle also recuces HC, which i need when MOT time comes around. Doesn't run as smooth though.
It must be a coincidence it goes to 8. I changed that myself to get the idle right in cold and warm conditions.
