    I have a mk2 with a Corrado 2.9 vr6 conversion
Currently the exhaust is a bit of a bodge of mk3 golf parts, so Im just wondering what I can replace it with?

Is there an off the shelf system that can be used, or is it a custom job only?

    Cheers

factory vr6 manifold + downpipe and cat bypass, then any mk2 16v exhaust will fit straight on. my choice would be 2.5" jetex exhaust.

depending on the make of cat bypass pipe you might need to cut it down a bit

Excellent thanks, I assumed the mk2 16v and mk3 vr6 were different bore sizes, glad they are not though

I should have added, there is a stainless 6 branch manifold on there, should that make any difference

    Cheers

Mine is stainless 6 branch > decat pipe > Jettex middle & backbox.
I only run 2 boxes, not the centre tube one.

yah mk3 16v and vr6 are 2.25" same as mk2. if the 4 branch is a good quality part then a std mk2 system should still fit to it, if its designed to fit to std mk3 golf. just a case of deciding if it needs a decat pipe or if it has one already if that makes sense

Yep, Make sure you get a 16V one as the 8V is smaller. 2" if i remember?

I run a 6 branch mani an ebay cat bypass and then a straight 2.5 inch pipe to a 16v back box I thought it would be mega loud but its not at all, and it is an amazing sound, my rolling road figures are good aswell its not restricting the engine that much :)

Is the Jetex 2.5" full bore all the way through? I saw one of their 2.5" 'systems' (as opposed to their custom parts) on a friend's Corrado once and the pipe was stepped down to around 2" inside the mufflers, which isn't great for flow. Sounded nice though!

Ideally you want the full 63mm all the way through and prefably mandrel bent over the axle :)

  10. no cat ,straight through to small back box .this is how i roll
