Just need some advice really. Just so you know the specs, i'm using an AGU engine on OEM management, and will be ditching all the PVC system, and running a catch tank instead. When fitting the turbo today, i notcied a few things im not too sure on ? 1. A vacuum pipe from the fuel pressure regulator (fpr). 2. Two vacuum nipples under the inlet on the right hand side. 3. The big vacuum nipple under the inlet. What can i do with the above ? ^^^ 4. And also, this metal pipe, pictured from my Mk4 AUM, has two outlets. One which goes to the DV, and a smaller hose which goes to the N75 - Now, ive heard that people ditch this pipe on many conversion, but what happens to the missing hoses which run between the two ? Do you have to get a similar pipe made up, or can this one be used ? Cheers in advanced. Rich
vacuum pipe from the fuel pressure regulator goes to 1 of the nipples on picture 2(under tb). i use the other nipple for boost gauge picture 3 i blanked this of as using a catch tank. this is usually attached to the housing ontop of the oil filter. u can make out what i mean the big nipple is behind the dipstick
Thats great, cheers Peter Will definitely use the spare one for a boost guage too. Did you get rid of the entire PCV system when you installed the catch tank ?
Cool cheers :-) Ive been reading this PCV delete - http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/269734.aspx?PageIndex=1 That piece that hangs under the car, shouldn't that go to the 'hockey puck' accumulator valve ?
i deleted that hockley punk out of my silicon tip. this is what advise i got when i asked the question Venting through hockey puck gives vacuum assist to evac the blowby but some of the gases re-enter for combustion. VentIng to atmosphere has no vacuum assist... advantage is you don't have blowby being drawn in the intake. im also running a dv so i just deleted it
just measure holes in tip and you get these of ebay for a couple of quid just search for silicon blanking and choice what size you want
Nice one. Will get one of those odered once i get the size measured up. Regarding that metal pipe, i guess i could re-use it. Only problem is that im using a standard inlet. Tb comes off to the left. So tbh i could do with this pipe going around to the right to connect to the other side of the fmic. Is there any way around this ?
you lost me there lol any pitures hers my mk1 with a agu since this piture puck is out of tip and catch tank installed old pitcure car at body shop for last 8 months . agu engine tb comes of to the left
Neat install. Good to see there is loads of room to route the cooler piping around the tip. I see your not using a recirc DV? Does it run ok ? What management are you using ? Like the look of the DV at the front nearer the Fmic. Cold side relocation kits iirc. What did you do with the vacuum which goes from the metal pipe i pictured, to the N75 valve ?
Oh thats why then Im going to be using OEM management on mine, so im going to have to use the N75 and a recirc DV to keep the ecu happy.
cant wait to see pics Rich especially as i am going to be running my AUQ with oem management and catch tank and i also want to delete the pvc and hockey puck so all the above and any future info you get along the way will be of great help to me and others im sure
No worries mate. Glad its going to help Keep an eye out for my build thread and threads in the 1.8t section, as i'll detail everything with pics as i do them.
Regarding this turbo intake pipe - - Are there any alternative / aftermarket stainless turbo pipes i could purchases to replace this for my AGU ? Its has to have the two outlets pictured above. One for the N75 and one for the DV. Cheers.
