I have a k03s turbo and want to use a 3" MAF but it wont fit my TIP, its fits a k04 tip but obviously I cant use this as its too big? anyone know how I can get around this? Cheers guys, Matt [edited daft font size]
3" Maf will flow and read correctly 450bhp easy, my car was proof of that You really dont need 3" Maf no matter how extreme your hybrid is as i doubt very much it will get anywhere near 300bhp? But if you still want to run one just adapt K04 tip to fit your turbo via some kind of adaptor/spacer
going to be about 270bhp mate, you think standard MAF is more than up to this then? just thinking will be bit easier for 3" MAF to deal with...
It is not easy to scale larger Maf to operate properly, who is gona be tuning your ecu? Which maf have you got now?
I am sure Bill will correct me but i think your standard Maf is big enough if not then TT/S3 item should do
3" MAFs have a read limit of up to 292gs on wideband ME7 ECU's and are slightly less on narrow band ME7 ECU's... the VR6 MAFs popular with K04 and K03 hybrid builds on AGU (ME3.8 ECU's) read even less... these are limits to VCDS as well and the ECU becomes a little blind beyond that but as said you can tune to 450hp using one but you have to use differnt compensation maps to ensure fuelling is right... wideband ECU's just get on with it, narrow band ECU's need a bit more effort but Bill has tuned 450hp Ibiza with a GT3071 on narrowband ME7 with an S3 MAF housing... <tuffty/>
VR6 MAF tube is the one to use for AGU's wanting to go bigger than the K03/K03s but on a K03s the std MAF tube is plenty... only when wanting to go for a hybrid K03 or K04 conversion is a larger MAF normally needed.. <tuffty/>
I agree with Sam, my APP with K03/04 hybrid, BAM injectors, 2.5" down pipe, Large cast exhaust manifold and large FMIC makes 275bhp using the STD. 180bhp MAF and OE management.
matt did you work this one out looks like everyone diverted to there own topics.........................
