I CANNOT RECOMMEND WYNNS DIESEL 3 ENOUGH FOR THIS PROBLEM!! I DID THE OVEN CLEANER THINGY (THIS MAY HAVE HELPED) ON A S-REG 110 BHP 1.9 GOLFY AND THEN (CAR STILL RUNNING BADLY) I ADDED A COUPLE OF BOTTLES OF WD 3 TO APPROX A THIRD OF A TANK (A SHOCK TREATMENT) AND AFTER ANOTHER 200 ISH MILES THE CAR WAS GOOD AS GOLD!!!! I've always been very wary of 'pour in fixes' but this genuinely worked. Best regards Mr C. Wynns (joke)
this is the link i found when i striped a spare turbo i got for my tdi http://www.technologie-entwicklung.de/Gasturbines/VNT15-Turbo/vnt15-turbo.html
Sorry that I tried too share a 'fix' that I genuinely 'happened' onto...it may work for you/ it may not. If the 'forum gods/ kings / know it all's' say that it won't work it....well they must be right....must be hard being right all the time!!!!
get a grip no one was putting you down in anyway gvk was only pointing out it was not likely to work on a sticking turbo fact
The best prevention for a sticking turbo is to use your right foot on the go pedal more liberally more often.
Yep, one I stripped and sorted on a Galaxy TDI had just been trundled in and out of the workshop and sat on the forecourt for months, would overboost then go into limp. Bloody dangerous if overtaking!!!
Aye it's not the best i'v only had it happen on the motorway touch wood With mine it's been under boosting It's not done it since the last time I fixed it But as you said you better giving it a good thrashing If I run it for a week the wife says it runs a lot better when she gets it back
