Really looks like this project is coming along really well. You will be looking forward to a nice place to work on in the winter. We have been off this afternoon to look at a house that had a newly built garage that was 63 square meters and had a full standing headroom loft above this. It was sodding fantastic
Sound more like 2 houses TSR 2.1!! Are you putting an offer in or what??? I got 5 mtrs. There was some confusion because when they quoted me they said 90/mtr 'all in', to me that meant including vat. I phoned to pay on my card 3 times before it was delivered but each time the woman who did the payments wasn't in and didn't phone me back. Then they delivered it and gave me a bill for 450 +vat. After a couple of phone calls they did it for 75/mtr +vat which was 450. The red walls look pretty good now.... ....its gone dark lol lol
Be careful what you wish for ... you WILL fill it ! 1990 ... thanks for the details & lessons, great colour scheme by the way (Cymru am Byth) lol
the house is 434 square meters after a bigger place but this was just tooooo big really. oh I don't thing this is or was ever in question. I am just waiting for 1990 to finish this fantastic build and show the photos of the golf in there and loads of space round it. THEN 3 months later you will not even see any of the floor and that window he has just fitted will be useless with all the gear in the world stacked up blocking out the light. It is the way of things in any garage.
You painted the outside red? Now it just looks like a massive shed!lol Floor paint is a must. We painted the whole of our 5000 sq ft unit in this special 2 coat stuff. High as a kite after but it's had 6 years of heavy traffic and still looks new! Just chuck a load of water over and give it a scrub. Be careful though, it's like an ice rink when wet! Many times I have got out the van and ended up underneath it!lol
I am sorry. but that is classic. Keep it like that. you are really making good progress, when is the roof due?
I'm not getting the trusses ready made now, i'm making my own with a 6x2 purlin and 4x2 spars. The wood will be 178.95 compared to 480 for the ready made jobbies and includes the slate lats as well. I think my new month on the visa starts on friday so i'll order it then. I'm realy pleased my uncle came round now, I feel like i'm 300 up
I can't see you making the roof as either being a problem or taxing you too much. You have been doing all ok (bar the window) so far ? Go on get in about it and as you say you are 300 up now in real money
As long as I don't put it on upside down lol I've done 2 roofs before but not with a center purlin. Porch And extention And here the old garage, just about fitted a car in but you had to squeeze out of the door
Looks great! I just forked out a hundred quid on floor paint! To be fair it makes a massive difference to the surface. Going to whitewash the walls to add a bit of brightness as well
I used this on my garage (is is concrete block) it was a right bit of a pain to get a half good finish you really need to work it into all the dimples in the block work but it really did make it much brighter in there. Look into the new LED spots that are about they are really good. And you cant beat them for output per W and they don't flicker like strip lights.
No Idea to be honest mate, going to go to the local Co-Op hardware shop (where all the farmers go!) (and my shed was a cattle shed so probably footing) See what they have, the walls are bare breeze-blocks and whatever will make them lighter for cheap works in my book! going to use silage wrap over the joists to cut down on falling dust from the roof too, and might be able to use it as a paint shop compared to the half-arsed efforts I am doing to my car at the moment in there
Made a start today, just needed an illegal imigrant, a piece of string, some wood, a saw and a drill. Started with 17 strap ons Unpaid help Piece of string Saw at 25degrees Gave a nice neat joint And this is about as far as we got Hoping to have it felted tomorow.
I had to paint 4 walls of a 5000 sqft warehouse and just used dulux white, But man it is a pain to apply. I first got an industrial spray machine that you stick a tube in the paint bucket and spray it on the walls. Waste of time that was! In the end it was just a roller and brush to work it into the brickwork, took ages but looks 100%
