Is that a camera in the middle bottom grille?

 

It's a sensor mate. Front assist. I've got one on my MK7 GTI.

Basically say for instance someone brakes in front of you suddenly, the sensor will detect this and brake for you, keeping you a safe distance away. You can also set the gap yourself.

And it lowered the insurance group dramatically !!! I only pay just over 240 a year on my new one

Any news of what Vw are getting up to deserves a read on any forum.

A little like the R400 and R evo. They'll never be produced. And if they do they'll probably be toned down versions anyway.

Would be nice to see a "GTI" anniversary come out though.

 

The GTI Ed40 will. In 2015/2016.

A version of the R400 will come out, I'm sure. It's not a bonkers concept and looks perfectly production ready.
