After several years with company cars, finally coming back to VW ownership having ordered a Polo GTI yesterday :)
Looks like a 12 week wait (which is going to drag!) so no pics yet apart from the configurator shots below. Buzzing as I've never bought a brand new car before and this should be a rapid little thing - well I say little, having checked the dimensions it's pretty much the same size as my old mk2 Golf!

Got a very good deal with drivethedeal.com

Only thing that concerns me is the aktuator/fake noise thingy

don't worry about the noise actuator if it dose bother you once you get the car
the volume can be adjusted with vdcs / vag com

my tdi has it and it is not that bad

Richard's wife has one the same as this he would be able to tell what it is like they are a nice looking car

Cheers for the reply, can you explain to me what you mean by vdcs/vag com?
Is this something you have to get done at a dealer or specialist?

Sorry for ignorant post but my tech knowledge is v low

Very nice, yeah it's just plug in diagnostics. Dealer or third party software.

Any idea what it would cost? Not something I've looked into before but if there's a non-invasive way to deal with it that sounds ideal
Seen some videos of people physically removing them from golfs, but I'm a bit reluctant to start hacking at a brand new car with a screwdriver tbh

    Welcome to polo GTi world!

I have had mine since September last year and it's quick! Have you got the dynamic sports chassiis (you will know as you will have sport button) The fake engine noise into the cabin is onl activated when sport mode is engaged. I personally never use sport mode as its just too quick for the crap roads I mainly drive on, but it's there if I want it. 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds I have done, but VW say 6.7s. Golf GTi is 6.5! I haven't been beaten off the start by anything yet and I mean anything. I went manual, have you gone DSG or manual? So excited for you! An awesome first new car! Can't wait to see it!

    Spec as follows
Solid black, manual, sport performance pack, parking pack, armrest, cloth interior, std wheels

Not had chance to experience the stereo (& no upgrade options available), how do you find it?
Had plenty of new company cars over the years and always nice to get the delivery of a new machine, but feels a bit more special this time around :)

    Awesome!

The stereo is awesome loud crisp and bass galor! CD player in glove box, blue tooth connection, mirror link, voice control, great features and a DAB. I love this car! It is amazing. Only criticism is in the wet and keeping power to the road. It takes some getting used to driving off the start and in traffic as it just wants to Caine it everywhere! Clutch control is a must ! Off the start if you try to pull away too quick in the wet in normal driving mode traction control kicks in to help, but there is a nack to getting it away that you will pick up and apparently there is hidden launch control (check out you tube). It is just such a light and powerful thing. Electromechanical steering is the dogs and same system Porsche use. Handling around bends is just amazing! You are going to love it! When you are on dual carriage/motorways, you will be astounded at how much power there is and how it feels like a much bigger car, it really holds its own! The wait for mine drove me mad!

I didn't pick mirror link but don't keep music on my phone, good to know that it sounds like I won't need to upgrade it just yet though ;)
The wait is already long lol

I waited from April to end of August for mine last year! They are made in Spain and then have to be sent to Germany to be quality checked before being shipped to Grimsby and then sent to your dealer.

There are more and more popping up but safe to say they are still not as common as a Golf GTi, so can't imagine that many over here.
    Welcome to exclusivity lol!

    Just answered my own question..
Found a pic of a car with a short plate and can see a slight recess. Think I'll be going with a standard size then
