So member Notenoughtime is in need of a WUR Looking on eBay prices are starting from 85 ranging up to 300+ for a rebuilt one Is this the way prices will go as our cars get rarer or are people just being greedy / speculating on need being greater than the price . Thoughts?
You have answered your own question ... The rebuilt & modified unit that I have was `done` by KMI (Kem Mills Injection), can not recall the cost but `not cheap` ... sitting on the shelf as part of the pension fund
A bit of both. Prices will always go up as parts get harder to find but there are some d*cks out there, especially on ebay, that think a 30 year old K-jet metering head is worth 150..
Prices seem to have got expensive as greedy b****ards say it's rare etc and no real proof it actually works correctly Thanks to pigbladder I have one now on the car and it's off to the rollers tomorrow morning I'll order a rebuild kit and rebuild the old one and see if it works worth a punt at 34
So my eBay purchase of a air box metering head fuel lines and injectors was a steal at 25. I'm stocking up on spares when they come by me cheap.its going save s as these get really old. Some bits mabe past useful life.but then so could the expensive stuff.
I was the same, all sorts of KJet stuff tucked away ... but since decided to get modern KMI can refurbish it and are excellent to deal with
Agree with jamesa. KMI great to deal with, my cold start regulator was back inside ten days ( I was told I was lucky - they were just doing a batch and mine arrived just in time or it would have been longer). OK it was expensive but hey who said running older cars was cheap and a doddle . It was very clean on return and worked straight away, problem of very very difficult to start disappeared !
